Dexter's First Day Of Kindergarten

Yesterday Dexter had his first day of Kindergarten.  He started the day off with his "first day of school" cereal that I let him pick out.  He chose fruity bunnies!  He was excited.  At 7:50 he said he was going to go wait in the car.  We told him he could relax for about 10 more minutes.  He decided to wear his new ironman shirt that Gramma Torrey gave him.  Here are some cute pictures of his morning.

over already?  Dex said it felt like he was only in school for 45 minutes!

making apple butter

These pictures do not do apple butter any justice!  It is sooooo good.  Torrey taught me how to make apple butter on wednesday and yesterday I canned them!  It was fun.  We picked the apples off our tree in our yard, cut and boiled the apples, strained them, added spices and sugar, and cooked them in a crock pot over night.  After that they were ready to be canned.

My very first canning experience!

summer fun

We've had a fun summer with friends and family, house guests, and wedding!

A few house improvements too!

I also got this jasmine plant for the greenhouse.  It smells so good.  Someday my greenhouse will be filled with many tropical plants.
Here is a before and after picture of our living room.  It was painted by a friend and he did a great job.  The orange was just a little too much!

Much Better!
I painted the door that leads downstairs red too!

And the outside door!  I've always wanted to do that.  I love the way it looks.

Garden Update

We have been working hard in our garden and finally reaping the benefits.  I don't even think these pictures do it justice.

Boomerang

We just got a baby lamb and named him Boomerang.  He is soooooooo cute!  I hate to play favorites but there is something about him that I really love.  He is so soft and smells so good.  (like a baby!)  I miss him when I am at work!
